I would like to introduce my friend of over ten years Katie Brown.
Katie and I met in Les Gets, a beautiful mountain town in the Haute Savoie region of France. We spent many seasons there together living what can only be described as a dream mountain life. As time went on we both moved away on to bigger and better things but the great friendship we shared never left us and we always kept in touch.
Now Healthy Living and livesandlearns.com has given me the opportunity to bring Katie into the team and what a delightful member she will be. As an experienced Yogi Katie will be helping myself and all of you with our fitness and well-being content. She is a beautiful and talented young lady and I cannot express how happy I am to have her be a part of this.
Here’s to Katie!!!!
They say yoga finds you. . I was a skeptic, a non-believer, a non stretcher.
I was a woman who had lost six years of her life to sever depression, panic attacks, crippling anxiety and was heavily medicated and numb. At my lowest point, when I gave up on my long term relationship a friend opened her home on one condition. . . I had to try yoga.
A daily thirty-minute scratched Baron Baptist DVD. So it began. Everything ached, I found muscles I didn’t know I had both physically and mentally. I moved home, came off all my medication and began therapy. This is when I decided to go to India to take my two hundred hour teacher training course. Up until this point I was self-taught via a DVD and Instagram photos. This was a pivotal moment.
My diet changed, my body changed and I have never looked back.
I have since taught full time in France, India and England. I have completed a further three hundred hour Vinyasa Yoga training, followed my fascination with food and medicine and became a nutritional therapist and due to my body needing strength and conditioning become a level three qualified personal trainer.
This year I was invited back to the school in India where I studied and was asked to be their lead Vinyasa Instructor. I was thrilled to do so. I have had five amazing months spent in India assisting and now leading the two hundred hour training courses I was once a student of.
Yoga has given me my life back, given me the tools to live life. Combined with nutrition and exercise I have been immeasurably grateful to share it all with others. Whether it is physical rehabilitation, mental health or simply a desire to try something new I get great reward from helping people. I love what this life allows me to do and I love watching each student grow and find an inner joy.
Questions. . I love them, so feel free to comment or get in touch anytime and I will help as best I can. Otherwise, I will be here filming flows and short videos for your viewing pleasure and to help you improve your lives like I have mine.
All the best,
